EveryPenny works as a remote MCP server. Connect it once, then ask Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini about your money — or have it tidy up your transactions. You approve the connection in the EveryPenny app and choose read-only or read & write.

How signing in works
- Add EveryPenny in your assistant with the server address above.
- When you connect, the assistant opens an EveryPenny page with a QR code.
- Scan it with your iPhone camera — or open EveryPenny → Settings → AI assistants → Enter a code.
- Choose Read only or Read & write and tap Allow. The page continues to your assistant on its own.

Understand your money
- What were my top 5 places for food last month? Break it down by week.
- Compare eating out with groceries over the last three months.
- What was unusual about my spending this month compared to the three before?
- Which subscriptions am I paying for, and what do they cost per year?
Decide bigger things
- Can I afford a week in Barcelona in July at my current savings rate?
- How long until I reach a 20,000 zł emergency fund at this pace?
- Where could I cut 1,000 UAH a month without it hurting?
Tidy up (Read & write)
- Label everything from 1–10 April as “Lisbon trip”.
- Put all the uncategorized transactions from this month into the right categories.
- Split yesterday's Biedronka receipt: 80 zł groceries, 35 zł household.
- Add the 40 zł I paid in cash at the market this morning.
Security
No password on the web
You approve in the EveryPenny app on your iPhone. Nothing to type into a web page, no password to leak.
You pick the access
Read only, or Read & write — chosen when you approve. Write access never moves money: EveryPenny is your ledger.
OAuth 2.1 with PKCE
Access tokens last 24 hours and renew automatically with rotating refresh tokens. We store only fingerprints of tokens, never the tokens themselves.
Disconnect any time
In the app: Settings → AI assistants → Disconnect — it takes effect immediately. Or remove the connector in your assistant.
Permissions
Read only
The assistant can see your accounts, transactions, budgets and reports but can't change anything. A good default for questions.
Read & write
The assistant can also add, edit, categorize, label, split and delete transactions, record transfers between your own accounts and set budgets — when you ask it to.

What it can read
- Overview — net worth, this month's spending and income, budgets that need attention, bills coming up
- Transactions — search by text, dates, category, account, label or amount; full details with receipt lines and splits
- Reports — spending or income by category, label or merchant for any period, converted to one currency
- Monthly cash flow — income, spending and savings rate
- Accounts and balances, categories, labels, budgets, subscriptions and bills, goals, exchange rates
What it can change (Read & write only)
- Add, edit or delete cash and other manual transactions
- Rename, recategorize, relabel, split or hide any transaction — bank transactions keep the amount and date the bank reported
- Categorize, label or hide up to 200 transactions at once
- Record transfers between your manual accounts
- Create and rename labels; set monthly budgets
What it can't do
- Move money. EveryPenny is your ledger — banks are read-only sources.
- See your bank logins, or connect and disconnect banks.
- See anyone else's data. Every request is limited to your own account.
- Read your conversations with the assistant.
Privacy
The assistant only receives what it asks for to answer you, from your account. We don't store your conversations. What the assistant does with your data is covered by its own privacy policy.
Advanced
Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth can connect with the address above. The server implements OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, RFC 7591 dynamic client registration, RFC 8414 authorization server metadata and RFC 9728 protected resource metadata, and speaks both the stateless 2026-07-28 protocol and earlier revisions.
